Dear Wolfpack Faithful,
Congratulations on joining the Wolfpack! College will be an exciting next step in your life and will provide you with many opportunities for personal and professional development. I can say from personal experience that you will mature. You will be challenged mentally, socially, spiritually, physically, and interpersonally during your college career. I have become a better scholar, leader, citizen, and man because of my membership in an Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternity.
Joining a fraternity is one of the most rewarding opportunities that you will have while at NC State. As a freshman, I was skeptical about joining a fraternity. Upon arriving to NC State, I befriended a few of the leaders on campus and these men mentored me, helping me to adjust to college life. I later learned that these men were brothers of a fraternity on campus, which changed my outlook on Greek life. They encouraged me to go through fraternity recruitment and find the fraternity that best fit me. This turned out to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made. The men I met during recruitment are now my fraternity brothers, my mentors, and my best friends.
During your undergraduate experience, you will have opportunities to build life-long friendships. Your pursuit of academic achievement, social and personal development, community involvement, and leadership development will be strengthened by the bonds of brotherhood. Fraternities afford their members many benefits that are unique to Greek organizations. These benefits enrich a student’s college experience, not only during your undergraduate years, but after graduation as well. Most chapters will provide you access to their alumni networks, which include CEOs and leaders of Fortune 500 companies, government and elected officials, and other prominent leaders throughout our nation and indeed the world.
As you embark on this next step in your life, the twenty-two fraternities and over one-thousand initiated members in the NC State IFC want to encourage you to consider participating in fraternity recruitment this year. Joining a fraternity will make your time at NC State more meaningful and will add personal and professional value to your life for years to come. We hope that you will join us in the bonds of brotherhood, regardless of thefraternity you choose to join. Together we can pursue academic excellence, compete on the Intramural field, make a difference in the lives of others, and be the model leaders and citizens of tomorrow.
We look forward to meeting you this semester.
Regards,

Johnathan Tucker
